# Setting your coaching defaults

If you tend to coach the same type of conversation often, set your defaults once and skip the choices every time you start a session.

## Set your defaults

1. Open the Settings tab.
2. Find the coaching preferences.
3. Set your default template, the one pre-selected each time you start a session. See [Choosing a coaching template](https://www.meetfy.ai/en/helpcenter/coaching/choosing-a-coaching-template).
4. Set your default prompt if you regularly use a custom focus for the coach.
5. Choose how you want to receive tips by default: on screen, spoken through your headphones, as a notification, or a combination. See [Hearing tips in your headphones](https://www.meetfy.ai/en/helpcenter/coaching/hearing-tips-in-your-headphones).

## Good to know

- Defaults only set the starting point; you can still change the template or tip mode for any individual session before you start it.
- Changing your defaults doesn't affect a session that's already running.

## Tip

If most of your conversations are the same type, for example, sales calls, set that as your default template so you never have to pick it manually.
